Have a Green Team
Creating a green team in the office or even just choosing a green champion is a fantastic way for you to make sure that you are continually coming up with new ideas. You have to make sure that you are empowering your staff so that they can make better decisions and you also need to make sure that you introduce green policies too. This will help staff to abide by the rules you have put into place, such as no desk bins or even plastic bottles.
Use Green Products
Every single year, landfills overflow with reusable pens. It’s time for you to think about stocking up on stationery that is actually reusable. Using green stationery will help the environment and it will also reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills. This will save you a great deal of money and it will also improve the way that your customers see you. Find out if there is a green way for you to refill your office supplies and if there isn’t, recycle.
Clean Green
Going green with any cleaning products you have is highly recommended if you want to improve the general health of your staff. It will also stop you from releasing any harmful toxins into the environment. Believe it or not, it is now easier than ever for you to find green cleaning products and sometimes you can even hire green cleaning companies to work with you too, so keep that in mind.
Review Waste
Reviewing your waste is a fantastic way for you to know what your business is using, as well as helping you to know what you should be throwing away. If you have a lot of plastic cups that are put in the bin from the water cooler, then try and opt for cardboard cups next time you make a shipment. If you can do this then you will soon find that you are able to limit the amount of waste you end up producing. You can also explore the idea of steel recycling as well if you can.
Challenge Suppliers
Getting access to eco-friendly products is another way for you to help the environment. It may be that you swap to a supplier who is able to offer you less packaging or that you are able to find ones that offer green products. Either way, if you know that yours doesn’t offer anything like this, then it doesn’t hurt to ask them. Tell them the changes that they could make to help your company make a difference because if you do, then you will be able to make an even bigger impact on the environment so keep that in mind.
